Ribbon Cutting Celebration Announced for Moreau Commons

Friday, January 30 | 4:00–6:00 PM

South Glens Falls / Town of Moreau, NY — The South Glens Falls–Town of Moreau Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host a ribbon cutting celebration for Moreau Commons on Friday, January 30, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, celebrating the transformation of the former Suzuki/Armory building at 1377 U.S. Route 9 into a vibrant, multi-business destination.

Once vacant for more than a decade, the 12,000-square-foot building has been revitalized through the vision and investment of local businessmen Ben Alden of Platinum Protective Coatings and Brian McKenzie of McKenzie Drywall. Both longtime Moreau residents, Alden and McKenzie partnered to reimagine the underutilized property as a modern, welcoming space designed to support small businesses, foster community connections, and strengthen the economic vitality of the Route 9 corridor.

Renamed Moreau Commons, the project represents a significant local investment, with extensive interior renovations including new walls, insulation, electrical systems, and shared common areas. The redevelopment reflects Alden and McKenzie’s long-standing working relationship and shared commitment to reinvesting in their home community through thoughtful, locally driven development.

The ribbon cutting celebration will include local officials, refreshments, giveaways, and the opportunity to meet business owners and community leaders. The event will also recognize the businesses currently calling Moreau Commons home, including:
